Au mois d’avril 2018 une idée m’est venu je savais que ma mère Yoko Gunji, aimait chanter notamment une vieille chanson japonaise Aizu Bandai san, une chanson folklorique aux sons assez particuliers pour une oreille européenne.
Avec Olga Adorno artiste, amie à la voix unique, elles aimaient pousser la chansonnette ensemble. Alors j’ai tout simplement décidé de les réunir avec Augustin Dupuy le fils musicien d’Olga. J’ai voulu conjurer le temps qui n’est plus le même pour nos mères. Profiter du moment présent à défaut d’autres choses à travers une journée complète le matin, le midi, l’après midi, et le soir.
Nous avons enregistré deux sessions cet été et puis la brutalité de la vie a voulu que ma mère parte le 5 octobre de cette année.
J’ai conçu ce projet pour ma mère et Olga parce que je voulais qu’elles soient ensemble et que Augustin et moi, nous entourions nos mères de l’amour qu’elles nous ont données et qu’elles nous donnent encore.
J’ai décidé de continuer le projet avec Augustin, et de m’adapter à cette nouvelle situation, car je pense que ma mère aurait été heureuse de voir le projet aboutir. C’est un hommage aux femmes, aux mamans, aux artistes, à la vie.

In April 2018 an idea came to me. I knew that my mother, Yoko Gunji, especially liked to sing an old Japanese song, Aizu Bandai san, a folk song that sounds a bit peculiar to the European ear.
My mother and her friend, Olga Adorno, an artist with a unique voice, loved to sing together.
So I decided to bring them together with Augustin Dupuy, Olga's musician son. I wanted to conjure up the time that once was for our mothers. An opportunity, failing all else, to enjoy the present moment yet would last throughout the morning, afternoon, and evening.

We recorded two sessions this summer. Then, on October 5th 2018, the brutality of life took my mother from me. I created this project for my mother and Olga because I wanted to be together, and so that Augustin and I would surround our mothers with the love they gave, and continue to give, us.
I decided with Augustin to continue the project and adapt to this new situation, because I think my mother would have been happy to see the project succeed.
